Using Twitter to Promote Your Business

Hello All,

I’m sure this isn’t “Breaking News” for you, but I would like to mention a free source of advertising for you. It’s called Twitter. For those of you that are not familiar with Twittering, it’s a social network where you find people of interest, you become their “Follower” in hopes that they will “Follow” you in return. Usually they do unless they feel you are not worthy.

In the event they consider you a pion, you just remove them from your Following List and continue your search for people of substance. I really like the concept. You pretty much post periodic messages on your Twitter page to let everyone know whats going with you at that moment, and when some one Follows you in return you can start sending them Direct Messages.

Starting a Business in a Down Economy

Just the other day, someone asked if it was a bad time to start a Home-Based business. It turned into an hour long discussion. But the basis of my response was I believed that it depended on the type of business he had in mind. Some businesses thrive at times like this, while others are dependent on the resources that are available in promising economic times so they struggle or even fail.

Wellness companies seem to be doing OK right now. Ofcourse not as well as in better times, but people STILL want to look and feel good. I own an IT Outsourcing business that support small business and it has not suffered much. I’ve actually done well by targeting business that could not afford to maintain the full-time on-site employees they were paying. Outsourcing made more sense to them.
